There’s always intrigue in the buildup to the Preakness because hope for the first Triple Crown since 1978 is alive, resting this year on American Pharoah. The Preakness field is limited to 14 horses, and eight will run this year, including four from the Kentucky Derby — American Pharoah, Dortmund, Firing Line and Mr. Z.
