The first Predator film was released in 1987 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in a sci-fi action film that took place in a vast jungle. Safe to say, the film was a huge hit and spawned a series of sequels and crossovers that were less successful but still cemented the franchises spot in popular culture. The game adaptations of the Predator franchise have varied greatly and many were hoping for a new game that could match the highs of the Alien versus Predator games. The beta for the Predator: Hunting Grounds suggested that there was still work to do on the title to reach this benchmark.

The issues with the beta of Predator: Hunting Grounds were primarily based around long matchmaking times and this problem is now evident in the final release of the game.  The developer of the game, Illfonic, have let players know that they are experiencing issues with long wait times and have shared a link where players can find more information. Despite this, some players feel that this issue should have been fixed after it was reported in the beta stages of the development of the game. While the number of players attempting to play the game is a positive sign for the appeal of the title, gamers may be deterred by these issues.

Many players have been entertained by the features of Predator: Hunting Grounds but issues that impact actually playing the game will likely disappoint fans. It will be interesting to see how Illfonic will handle this issue and whether they can improve the standing of the game through updates. Friday the 13th benefited from updates and this may be the case for Predator: Hunting Grounds.
